BEIJING, Sept 28 Asia Pulse - China should levy a carbon tax, based on the existing energy tax, to help control greenhouse gas emissions, said Dr. Jiang Kejun from the Energy Research Institute under National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

A group of top Chinese research bodies have lately published the "2050 China Energy and CO2 Emissions Report", calling for public consciousness, government commitment, financing and international cooperation to curb carbon dioxide emissions.
