Sep 28, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australia's Defence Material Minister, Greg Combet, will meet with government, military and defence industry representatives during a trip to the US. The development of the new Virginia class of nuclear submarines will be of particular interest, as Australia plans to replace its own submarine fleet at a cost of up to $A35bn. The proposed defence trade treaty with the US will also be on Combet's agenda.
