BLUE RIVER - From high alongside a nearby hill, Jeff Sherman looked down the other day and saw what all the years, and all the work, and all the worrying had produced:
On the site of an old veneer mill, a red 400-meter running track, framed by forests and by the McKenzie River flowing behind it.
A track built through the sweat of volunteers, and the generosity - sometimes overwhelming - of folks who gave their time, resources or money so that track and field athletes from little McKenzie High School and the surrounding area would have a place to run.
