TACOMA, Wash.--Jun. 30--Boeing Co. officials worry that Europe's Airbus Industrie may be willing to sell airplanes at a loss to break the Seattle company's grip on sales to British Airways.
Reports on both sides of the Atlantic say Airbus is about to clinch a deal to sell as many as 100 jets to British Airways for $3.8 billion.
Up to now, British Airways has never bought from Airbus, with more than two-thirds of its 300-plane fleet made by Boeing.
But several U.S., British and French newspapers reported in the past two days that Airbus would win the order if Boeing didn't meet or beat the European plane-maker's ...
