Avermectin, a new antibiotic biological pesticide, is poisonous on contact, poisonous if ingested and has strong penetrating power. But it has extensive applications. It can be used as insecticide for agriculture, anthelmintic for animals, chemical for household sanitation and also as a filaria repellent for human bodies.
