KANSAS CITY, MO. - Jason Kubel will be a key figure tonight, as the Twins open a four-game, do-or-die series in Detroit, and he wasn't very happy Sunday.
Normally one of the most mild-mannered professional athletes you will find, Kubel slammed his helmet and shin guard at one point, drawing a pointed rebuke from umpire Mike Reilly.
It was the third inning, and Royals ace Zack Greinke had just escaped a bases-loaded, no-out jam, striking out Joe Mauer and Kubel for the final two outs in an eventual 4-1 Twins loss at Kauffman Stadium.
