Santa Fe home builders Steve Gibson and Jim Gill, trying to adjust to the slump in the housing market, have turned to constructing something else many people eventually spend a lot of time in -- coffins.
"We wanted a business we could do at waist level, had few callbacks and was recession-proof," said Gill, 49.
Gibson, also 49, said the two haven't thrown in the towel on the their custom home-building businesses, but needed something to supplement the occasional remodeling and repair jobs they get from previous home customers.
