Xstrata Plc, the world s largest exporter of coal used by power stations, will establish its own rail haulage capacity in Australia within two years to boost its ability to ship the energy fuel.

Investment in the Hunter Valley infrastructure will support port and rail expansions in New South Wales state designed to increase output, spokeswoman Claire Divver said today by e-mail. The trains will ship alongside Xstrata s existing contracts with haulage company Pacific National, Divver said.
