RAIL bosses say they have made good progress on the [pounds sterling]300 million project to reopen the Airdrie to Bathgate line.

Recent work has included development of a car park at Armadale Station and the creation of a new station at Bathgate.

Hugh Wark, senior project manager for Network Rail, said: "I recently surveyed the line of route by helicopter and it's clear that the project is starting to shape the local landscape. It is really encouraging to see the results of our ongoing hard work.
