The renovation of the Barnett Bridge at the Interstate 5 South Medford Interchange near exit 27 is one step closer to being finished.
The bridge was demolished in July and is now being rebuilt. The Oregon Department of Transportation set the final five beams for the bridge Friday. In total, it's set about 250 beams, which officials say is an exceptional high amount.
"It really means that we can get this project done sometime this year. We'll have a few little things like landscaping, but for the most part this job here will be functional by the end of the year," ODOT Project Manager Joe Thomas said.
