BASF-YPC Co., Ltd. (BYC), their joint venture in Nanjing, with a total investment of USD 1.4 billion. On July 7, 2009, BASF released an announcement, saying that the Chinese government had approved their feasibility study report on the expansion project, according to which the investment will be used for the rebuilding of existing steam cracker, the construction of 10 new chemical plants and the expansion of three existing plants.
