Article: U.S. SHOULD GET OUT OF AFGHANISTAN.(THE CAP TIMES)(Letter to the editor)

Dear Editor: It's hard to figure out what our strategy, if any, is in Afghanistan. Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the new U.S. and NATO commander there, now says that we should make the safety of villagers our top priority. He says that killing insurgents only creates more of them.

Now that they've finally figured that out, what are they planning to do about it? McChrystal is expected to call for as much as a 40,000-troop increase. White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said that the request will be subject to "many weeks of evaluation and assessment."

So this is their strategy. Request more troops, dither for many more weeks, then when the extra troops arrive, ...
