PALM BEACH -- Palm Beach's staid Worth Avenue is changing.

The tree-lined street where elite retailers such as Chanel, Cartier and Tiffany have for years proffered high-end merchandise from oh-so-tasteful tiny storefronts is about to get a larger-than-life Neiman Marcus.

On first blush it would seem that such an upscale establishment is just the ticket for the 35,000 households in Palm Beach County with $100,000-plus incomes. But when it comes to putting the only Neiman Marcus in Florida outside of Fort Lauderdale on the 100 block of Worth Avenue, not everyone is enthusiastic.
