Scientists discuss in 'Pretibial myxedema is associated with polymorphism in exon 1 of CTLA-4 gene in patients with Graves' ophthalmopathy' new findings in graves ophthalmopathy. "Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte associated antigen-4 (CTLA-4) is a well-known molecule that regulates T cell activity, with polymorphisms at different regions of this gene having been associated with autoimmune conditions.
