AN international conman who once impersonated a Bahraini businessman at a London hotel and stole $85,000 (BD32,130) worth of designer clothes, jewellery and cash, has been arrested in the US.

Juan Carlos Guzman-Betancourt was caught at a petrol station in Vermont, after allegedly sneaking back across the border after earlier being deported to Canada.

The 33-year-old was wanted in the US following a burglary in Nevada in 2006 and has also been wanted in Canada, Colombia, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Thailand and Venezuela, according to international reports.
