A WEALTHY landowner was fined pounds 1,500 yesterday for destroying the home of Britain's most threatened mammal to make way for a golf course.
Ken Strelley, 36, blitzed the site of a colony of water voles for the course in a countryside beauty spot.
Strelley was just the second person in Britain to be prosecuted for interfering with the habitat of the endangered species of water voles.
