The Butthole Surfers had a weird blip on mainstream alt-rock radio in 1996 with the song "Pepper," off their seventh album "Electriclarryland," but the band's history goes back to the late '70s and through 30-odd years of depraved stage shows and albums with goofy titles like "Hairway to Steven."
"Pepper" is only characteristic of the band's musical catalog as much as "Push Th' Little Daisies" is characteristic of Ween, who count the Butthole Surfers among their influences. So, that's to say, not much at all. The Texas band sledges up a mix of punk rock, electronic pop, artsy ...
