The creators of the Green Garage in Midtown Detroit hope to harness the city's engineering ingenuity to solve environmental problems and seek to turn relics of Detroit's industrial past into environmentally sustainable signs of its future.
More than 40 volunteers, many of them professional engineers, are working to renovate a former Model T showroom near Wayne State University into an incubator for sustainable technology.
