Jim and Valerie Harvey hadn't set out to buy a new home, nor to become one of Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters' newest supporters.
But a tour through the Tidewater Builders Association's Dusty Boots event, a pre-Homearama sneak peek held in August, sold the couple on The Sydney Lambert, the show's 2009 Charity House.
"We walked through this house, and I personally felt like I was home," recalled Valerie Harvey, a registered nurse .
She'd always wanted a Victorian-style home for its traditional layout and classic detail. The couple then learned that proceeds would benefit CHKD. That appealed to the Harveys.
