A DRACONIAN crackdown on MPs' perks to be announced next month could lead to a flood of resignations from the Commons, the Parliamentary standards watchdog has been warned.
The Mail on Sunday has learned that Sir Christopher Kelly has drawn up plans to force all MPs to sack any members of their families on their payrolls and to stop all expenses claims for mortgages.
But Sir Christopher, the chairman of the Committee on Standards in Public Life, has been warned that his proposals would lead to 'financial carnage'.
