SIR Martin Sweeting, founder of the UK's world-beating micro-satellite industry and acknowledged space guru, has a vision. He wants to transform the company he founded, Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL), into 'the Vodafone of the Moon'.
His dream is to ring the Moon with SSTL satellites so that lunar explorers can chat to each other and to people on Earth. And he is confident that it will come true in his working life.
'Before I hang up my clogs, I want to see the Moon ringed by our satellites. I don't see why not,' says the 58-year-old.
