TOKYO, Oct 5 Asia Pulse - Japan's Fast Retailing Co. (TSE:9983) said Friday that same-store sales at its popular Uniqlo casual wear chain jumped 31.6 per cent on the year in September as a string of national holidays and cooler weather spurred individuals to shop.
Sales at direct-run Uniqlo stores rose on the year for a second month in a row. Customer traffic climbed 22.8 per cent, while sales per customer increased 7.2 per cent.
The so-called Silver Week holiday -- a five-day stretch of off days between September 19 and September 23 -- led more customers to visit Uniqlo stores. Also, cooler temperatures fueled buying of fall and winter apparel, such as ...
