Workers at some of America's largest most respected companies are getting laid off due to foreign imports. The Department of Labor on August 30 certified 3,200 manufacturing workers at plants owned by Honeywell Goodyear and Halliburton, among others, to receive "Trade Adjustment Assistance." "American workers within a number of industries are being impacted by direct foreign competition," says Hilda Solis, Secretary of Labor. Workers at the following companies were certified to receive training, re-employment services, health tax credits and relocation and job search allowances:
