Egypt index falls, led by OT

Egypt's benchmark index fell 1.5 percent to 6,690 points pressured by a drop in US market late last week, with heavyweight Orascom Telecom falling 2.6 percent.

"The drop in international markets over the weekend has affected us negatively. Most of the pressured stocks are the blue chips with foreign exposure," said Karim Hosny of Pharos Securities.

US stocks fell for the fourth straight day on Friday as weak jobs data gave more evidence the economic recovery would be less robust than expected. --Reuters
