IT HAS been used for centuries by native American Indians to treat cold symptoms.
More recently echinacea has been hailed as both a treatment for and a way of preventing the common cold.
Now 1,000 volunteers are being recruited by the Common Cold Centre, in Cardiff, to take part in one of the largest ever studies of the popular herbal remedy.
