Lawyers representing a Wisconsin man set to stand trial a second time on charges that he drowned his wife in a toilet withdrew from the case Friday over a conflict of interest.

The move delayed the first-degree intentional homicide case against Douglas Plude that had been scheduled to begin Oct. 26. No new trial date was set, and it will likely take months before a new defense team can be ready.
