Chris Jeffers is not the best starting quarterback in Section II, and the Bishop Maginn signal-caller would be the first to admit that.
But Jeffers is the only one of 62 starting quarterbacks playing his first year of organized football -- as a senior.
The Golden Griffins had planned to designate Davante Buie, the younger brother of Taran Buie, as their heir (or air) apparent to former four-year starter Bunduka Kargbo. Buie's family, however, moved to Pennsylvania during the summer.
