Oct 06, 2009 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- New car sales recovered in September 2009 in Australia, making it the second-best month of the 2009 year so far. However, the economic downturn still meant that the monthly figure was 3.5% lower year-on-year, and turnover for the entire year so far has declined by 13% compared with 2008. A strong turnaround was seen in the luxury cars segment, including upmarket sports utility vehicles.
