Baxter unveils new injection
DEERFIELD u Baxter International Inc. announced the commercial launch of a new pediatric injection to help fight dehydration. Baxter introduced HYLENEX recombinant (hyaluronidase human injection) for use in pediatric rehydration at the 2009 American College of Emergency Physicians scientific assembly. HYLENEX, an enzyme, allows fluids to be administered under the skin rather than through a vein. This allows health officials to quickly begin treatment with increased intravenouslike fluid rates, which can help lead to successful rehydration of children.
