Jul. 15--In the absence of action from the U.S. Senate, an Idaho Falls credit union is preparing for a vote that could remove the 62-year-old "federal" from its name.
If East Idaho Federal Credit Union's members vote July 23 to switch from a federal to state charter, they will be the second area credit union to make the move this year. Members of Westmark Credit Union voted in May to switch from federal to state charter.
