VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Oct 7, 2009 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- Avanti Mining Inc. ("Avanti") (TSX VENTURE:AVT) today announces the appointment of James R. Arnold, P.E., as a director of the company.
Mr. Arnold has over 30 years of experience in the mining industry, recently as Vice President, Colorado Operations, for Freeport McMoRan, overseeing the Henderson Mine and the Climax project in Colorado. Henderson is the world's largest molybdenum mine and the world's lowest cost underground mine.
