This year, US aerospace sales will be flying high, and for those going along for the ride, namely the machine tool and parts suppliers, the challenge is to gracefully cruise along the tailwinds of this latest sales boom, and not get lost in its the jetwash.

US aerospace sales are anticipated to reach a record $144.5 billion this year according to the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) 1998 Forecast Report. If reached, these figures will eclipse the previous sales peak of $139.2 billion in 1991.
