A new method of taking patients' blood pressure and getting more accurate readings is slowly making its way into physicians' offices around the world. The BpTRU device, which will become the standard approach at Cleveland Clinic by the end of the year, records three to five blood pressure readings over the course of five minutes--and it can be done without a nurse or doctor present, thus eliminating the "white coat effect."
