DALLAS -- After 91 years in business, Kunert, a German legwear and apparel manufacturer that had sales of $200 million last year, is taking on the U.S. market for the first time.
Based in the Bavarian town of Immenstadt, Kunert is a vertical manufacturer that spins all of its yarns except Lycra spandex. The company knits 200 styles of legwear, which retail for $8 to $30, and distributes in Europe and Asia.
L's Wear, based in Commack, N.Y., is Kunert's distributor in the U.S. Ernst Lange, who represented Kunert for eight years in the Netherlands, founded and runs L's Wear.
