(ADPnews) - The following is a review of the biodiesel and ethanol news published by Brazilian media for the period September 21 to 25, 2009.
Sugar and ethanol mills in Brazil's southeastern Minas Gerais state will process 48 million tonnes of sugar cane in the 2009/10 crop year, up by 13% crop-on-crop. Sugar output will grow by 20% to 2.65 million tonnes. The production of ethanol, that has grown by an average 28% a year in the last five years, will grow modestly by 9% in 2009/10.
Minas Gerais is Brazil's third largest cane producer, after Sao Paulo and Parana. In the ongoing crop year, the number of the new mills in the state will add up to 41 units. ...
