Article: Brazil biodiesel, ethanol news review (Aug 17-21, '09).

(ADPnews) - The following is a review of the biodiesel and ethanol news published by Brazilian media for the period August 17 to 21, 2009.

Brazilian sugar and ethanol mill Cerp kicked off on August 17, 2009 its 2009/10 crop with plans to crush one million tonnes of cane for the production of 1.5 million 50-kg bags of sugar and 55 million litres (14.5 million US gallons) of ethanol. The mill, which is owned by Sao Paulo's businessman Ricardo Mansur, is located in Ribeirao Preto municipality. Due to the delay in the crop's start-up, Cerp will extend its end until January 2010. Cerp will also produce bioenergy via sugar cane bagasse burning.
