Article: Banking rally props up PSI-20 at close.

(ADPnews) - Aug 28, 2009 - PSI-20, the blue chip index of Euronext Lisbon, gained 0.17% to 7,840.27 points today, triggered by the over 1% rises of Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), or BCP, and Banco Espirito Santo (ELI:BES), or BES.

For the past week, the index accumulated a 0.35% increase.

Today the risers were 11 and nine stocks closed in the red.

BCP climbed 1.92% to EUR 0.90. However, for the whole week, the shares have registered a 4.04% drop.

BES soared 1.22% to EUR 4.555. This week the bank announced the set-up of Avistar, a holding which consolidates some of BES's main strategic stakes, with a capital of EUR 100 million (USD ...
