(ADPnews) - Sep 3, 2009 - German steel and engineering group ThyssenKrupp AG (ETR:TKA) will cut several thousand jobs, daily Handelsblatt wrote on Wednesday, citing sources from the company.

Most of the job cuts will take place in the deficient divisions Technologies and Services, but the number of workers in the stainless steel unit will also be reduced. The staff downsizing will predominantly affect ThyssenKrupp's business abroad, while the job cuts in Germany will be relatively few. There will be no forced lay-offs, as the works council and the executive board have agreed in May.
