(ADPnews) - The following is a review of the biodiesel and ethanol news published by Brazilian media for the period August 24 to 28, 2009.

Brazilian industrial conglomerate Odebrecht announced USD 200 million (EUR 140m) investment in a consortium with Angolan Sonangol and Damer in the production of sugar and sugar bagasse electricity in Malange, Angola. Initially, the project envisages the production of 268,000 tonnes of sugar and 45 MW of electricity. Odebrecht holds 40% in the consortium named Companhia de Bioenergia de Angola (Biocom). The official launch of the project is scheduled for 2012.
