(ADPnews) - The following is a review of the biodiesel and ethanol news published by Brazilian media for the period September 14 to 18, 2009.
The sugar and ethanol mill Monte Verde, bought by US Bunge Ltd (NYSE:BG) in 2008, started cane crushing tests last week. The plant, which is located in Ponta Pora, central-western Mato Grosso do Sul state, will start production by March 2010, opening some 3,000 jobs. Monte Verde will also have a biomass unit, that will burn sugar cane bagasse to generate electricity. It will be launched in the second quarter of 2010.
