Article: R&I lowers Juroku Bank to BBB+.

(ADPnews) - Sep 17, 2009 - R&I lowered today to A- from BBB+ the issuer rating of Japan's Juroku Bank Ltd (TYO:8356).

The outlook is "stable".

In February 2009, R&I changed the rating outlook for Juroku Bank to "negative", reflecting R&I's view that the bank's risk resilience had further declined due to higher credit-related costs and the impairment of marketable securities, coupled with a strong possibility that the bank's financials might face heavier pressure.

R&I had been pointing out that in order to maintain the A- rating, the bank should improve its risk resilience by adopting an appropriate capital policy or by reducing risks.
