With two games left in the regular season, crunch time has come for the Minneapolis Southwest boys' soccer team. Again on a successful ride through the Minneapolis City Conference, the Class 2A, third-ranked Lakers have put themselves in position to enter the postseason with a full head of steam. This time, they hope to make something of it.
In seven of the past eight years, Southwest has finished the season ranked as one of the top 10 teams in the state among big schools. However, the Lakers have only been to the state tournament once in that span, finishing fourth in 2006.
