BAHRAIN'S private schools say they will still complete a full academic year despite prolonged closures because of swine flu.

Officials from the Education Ministry's private education directorate held meetings with principals of private educational institutions on Monday, to discuss what steps needed to be taken to make up for the lost teaching time.

Ministry regulations require all schools to complete 180 days of schooling per academic year and many parents were concerned that private schools would not cover syllabuses in time for international exams next summer.
