The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development agency has awarded 12 New York farms and businesses a total of $965,679 for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.

The funding came through USDA s Renewable Energy for America Program (REAP), which provides grants and loan guarantees to farms and rural small businesses for renewable energy systems, energy efficiency improvements, feasibility studies and energy audits.
