With the oil development in the area and more people coming to Minot Air Force Base for the second squadron of B-52s, Minot developers and builders are answering the need for more housing with extensive construction under way in the city.

But rising costs have also impacted land development and building construction for those in that line of business.

John Coughlin, president of Coughlin Construction, and Joel Feist, president of Real Builders Inc., both Minot, told members of the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce's Energy Committee Sept. 24 that many of their costs for land development and construction have gone up extensively.
