EQUITY trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), re-opened on a downward trend yesterday, occasioned by share price losses incurred by major blue chip stock, causing market indices to fall slightly by 0.6 per cent.
Even the few price gains recorded by some highly capitalised companies yesterday could not push up market indices.
Specifically, the All-share index, which measures the performance of quoted companies fell by 141.28 points or 0.6 per-cent from 22,323.15 recorded on Friday to 22,190.87 while market capitalisation depreciated by N33 billion or 0.6 per cent from N5.192 trillion to N5.259 trillion.
