The Czech military plans to buy up to 100 Iveco light armoured vehicles for over two billion crowns without a tender, the server Tyden.cz reports Sunday. Over 400 million crowns has been allotted to the purchase for 2010, the server adds.

"We are considering a tender, but there are also other ways," the server quotes deputy Defence Minister Jaroslav Kopriva as saying. The Czech arms industry would not profit from the order since it does not produce the required armoured vehicles.
