ESPN college football analyst Chris Spielman already knew the story behind the number; a developing story, at that. He's convinced, too, that No. 44 will make a name for himself in the Big Ten. That would be Chris Borland, a freshman linebacker on the University of Wisconsin football team.
When Spielman was asked about Borland, who went to Archbishop Alter High School in Kettering, Ohio, he cited Borland's "instincts" and broke out the equivalent of the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval from one passionate linebacker and Ohioan to another; a verbal knuckle bump, if you will.
