Frigates Russia is building for India get names
KALININGRAD, Russia. Oct 7 (Interfax) - Indian President Pratibha Patil has given names to three Project 1135.6 frigates that Russia is building for India, said the Yantar shipyard in Kaliningrad, which is building the ships.
One of the frigates, which are being built at Yantar, was named Teg (Saber), another Tarkash (Quiver), and the third Trikand (Bow), the shipyard said in a press release.
These names "maintain the tradition of combat names of the first three Project 1135.6 frigates of the Indian Navy that were build at Baltiysky Zavod, [a shipyard in] St. Petersburg: those ships received the ...
