Some 300 beleaguered Boston Medical Center staffers are demanding a say in the hard-hit hospital's future.
"As caregivers, we are not being heard," said Kerry LaBarbera, a nurse who signed a broadly circulated petition. "We're caught between the state policymakers and the hospital administration, and we're just trying to provide excellent care to our patients."
But BMC spokeswoman Ellen Berlin said the workers' wishes won't be granted.
"It is management's role to make decisions about the best and most efficient ways to deploy hospital resources," Berlin said.
